Venturi Aeration, Inc.

Venturi Aeration LogoGary Smith of Venturi Aeration, Inc. chose Pelham, NH for his environmental equipment manufacturing business because Pelham is centrally located in New England and has access to the various Interstates highways and also to local companies that would be used as subcontractors in the manufacture of aeration systems, e.g. Pelham Machine Shop, BlazeTek.

Venturi Aeration Venturi Aeration was started in 1988 and installing a water treatment system at Pelham HS was one of their first environmental projects. Since then, they have found Pelham to be a community that is vibrant and forward looking, and supports a small manufacturing companies, as well as support from the state of New Hampshire helping the company grow its technologies by forwarding potential business opportunities to the company.

Venturi Aeration, Inc., even though a small company, sells its products and services internationally (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France, and Spain). Venturi Aeration, Inc. is currently developing low energy wastewater treatment systems using natural plants that produce a cleaner effluent than conventional wastewater treatment technologies at a fraction of the energy cost, and also a fraction of the capital cost as well. It also has new highly efficient, low energy systems for addressing perennial water quality problems like cyanobacteria in ponds and lakes.

The company conducts Research & Development activities and continues to generate new innovative, low cost products and technology solutions for water and wastewater treatment.

In 2007 it developed a product called a Vortex Accelerator and did the second stage full scale pilot testing in New Zealand. This technology removes embedded gasses from raw drinking water to increase pH non-chemically and it is now accepted as a BACT (Best Available Control technology) viable water treatment system in New Zealand and Australia.

Since 1972 it has been observed consistently on the first Saturday after Labor Day. For the last 103 years, Pelham Old Home Day is sponsored and coordinated by members of the First Congregational Church.
